Trauma-informed care (TIC) is an approach that prioritizes understanding how past traumatic experiences can impact an individual's current mental, emotional, and physical well-being. This framework is designed to recognize the prevalence of trauma, empower survivors, and provide support and resources that facilitate a sense of safety and control. Trauma-informed care seeks to rebuild trust in the therapeutic relationship and equip clients with the tools necessary to heal and move forward by incorporating trust, transparency, collaboration, and sensitivity to cultural differences. This approach recognizes unique experiences and seeks opportunities to promote resilience, growth, and recovery.
At Carmel Therapy Network, we are committed to providing trauma-informed care, as we understand how important it is to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to heal and recover from past trauma.
All of our therapists have been trained in trauma-informed care (TIC). Our trauma-informed psychotherapists aim to provide specialized, holistic care, utilizing evidence-based practices such as ACT, TF-CBT, IFS, EMDR, Somatic work, Sensory-motor & Mindfulness, and more. We believe you deserve healing from the stressful symptoms that make it difficult to enjoy your daily life. Our therapists are skilled in methods to help you heal from traumatic experiences and help you feel unstuck.
Although all of our therapists provide TIC (trauma-informed care), you don't need a PTSD diagnosis to benefit from trauma-informed care. A trauma-informed approach means that we acknowledge the impact that past stressful experiences have on our present-day lives. A trauma-informed approach in therapy creates a space to honor your emotions and gives you tools to work with your nervous system instead of fighting against it.
You will better understand how you show up in relationships through a curious lens rather than a judgmental or self-critical space. In a trauma-informed space, you will feel less ashamed of your past self and work towards greater compassion for all parts of you. As a practice we are in-network with Anthem BCBS for Indiana residents. We cannot take HIP plans.
Some of our providers are in-network with United HealthCare and we also accept private pay. For OON (out-of-network) insurance plans, we are happy to provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Standard Notice: “Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges” Under the No Surprises Act. Beginning January 1, 2022: If you’re uninsured or you pay for healthcare bills yourself ('self-pay, you don’t have your claims submitted to your health insurance plan), providers and facilities must provide you with an estimate of expected charges before you receive an item or service. You can receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under this law, health and mental healthcare providers must give clients who don’t have insurance or are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health or mental healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask about your health or mental healthcare provider and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill of at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, click here or call HHS at (800) 368-1019. If you are in active crisis, please call 9-1-1 or 9-8-8 or visit your local emergency room.
